Our team
Youth Civic Project is led by young people. Officers keep the site accurate, review members' work, moderate the community, and plan programs. The seats below describe each role. A person's name is listed only once someone holds that seat and has agreed to be named.
Officer seats
Youth President. Leads YCP and sets priorities with the other officers. The founder, Zayden Jackson, serves as Youth President.
Vice President of Operations. Keeps projects, schedules, and member processes running smoothly.
Secretary. Keeps meeting notes and records, and handles official correspondence.
Treasurer. Tracks any money the organization handles and keeps records that match what YCP can account for.
Education Director. Oversees the Learn modules, library pages, and lessons, and makes sure each one is accurate and cites real sources.
Ambassador Director. Reviews ambassador applications and supports ambassadors and chapters.
Safety and Moderation Lead. Oversees chat, voice, and Discord moderation, handles reports, and makes sure the safety rules are followed.
How officers are chosen
Members can apply for open officer seats through the officer application. An interest form or application does not appoint anyone. Staff review each application and members can track theirs from submitted to a decision. Most officers start as active members who use the modules and help in the community.
What officers can and cannot do
Officers are educators and organizers. They can explain general rules and point to the right page. They are not lawyers and cannot give legal advice, and they cannot represent anyone.
Privacy
Officer names are published only with that person's consent. YCP does not publish officers' personal contact information. To reach the team, use the Contact page.
