Events

YCP events are learning sessions with a real date and time. When officers schedule one, it appears in the list below. If the list is empty, nothing is scheduled yet. We only post sessions that are actually happening.

What kinds of events we run

Online module nights. Most YCP events are online. A host walks through one Learn module or member lesson, the group discusses a Case of the Day hypothetical, and everyone works through the check questions together.

Lessons and workshops. Longer sessions, such as How a Bill Becomes Law, include an activity like a mock committee vote.

Classroom and club visits. A YCP member can visit a class or club to teach one module, with an adult in the room. Requests go through the Media page, and a request is not a booked visit until an officer replies.

Civic Arena sessions. Practice debates and mock bills, clearly labeled as simulations.

Safety rules for events

  • Online first. Online sessions are the default.
  • Adults on site. In-person events happen only with an adult present the whole time.
  • Parent consent. When the audience includes anyone under 18, in-person events follow the parent-consent rules.
  • No overnight trips. YCP does not run overnight trips.
  • Same conduct rules. The Youth Code of Conduct applies at every event, online or in person.
  • Privacy. Do not post photos, names, or other details about other attendees without their permission.

How to attend

  1. 1. Check this page or the announcements on the site and in Discord.
  2. 2. Open the event for its date, time, and how to join.
  3. 3. Sign in to your member account if the event is for members.
  4. 4. Show up a few minutes early.

If you help run an event, you can log the time on the Service page for officer review.

Want to host an event?

Members who want to host a module night can contact an officer through the Contact page with the module they want to teach and a proposed date. Officers review every event before it is posted.
