About
Media and appearances
This page covers two things: requests for YCP to visit a class or club, and information for journalists and others who want to write about the project. We only list talks and appearances that have actually happened. Until the first one is logged, the list below stays empty.
Request a class or club visit
A YCP member can visit a class, club, or youth group to teach one Learn module or lesson. Good choices include:
- Module A, What is a right? A good starting point for any group.
- Module B, Expression in public school. Tinker and the later student-speech cases.
- Module C, Official searches and phones. How school searches differ from police searches.
- How a Bill Becomes Law. A 15 to 20 minute lesson with a mock committee vote.
How visits work:
- 1. Use the request form below. Tell us the group, the age range, the module you are interested in, whether it is online or in person, and a few possible dates.
- 2. An officer reviews the request and replies. A request is not a booked visit until an officer confirms it.
- 3. An adult, such as the teacher or club advisor, must be in the room for the whole session.
- 4. The presenter reads the educational disclaimer out loud at the start: the session is education, not legal advice.
What a visit will not cover. We will not workshop a live discipline case or a pending criminal matter. If a student has a real case, they should talk with a trusted adult and a licensed lawyer.

- YCP is nonpartisan and does not comment on candidates or parties.
Press line
Youth Civic Project is a youth-led civic education project. It teaches young people how rights and government work, using real sources. Donations are not tax-deductible at this time. It is not a law clinic and not a chapter of another organization.
