Opportunities

There are several ways to take on more at Youth Civic Project, from logging a few service hours to holding an officer seat. Everything listed here is real. If a program is not open, this page says so, and an empty list means nothing is open right now.

  • Ambassador

Ambassadors represent YCP in their state or area. They help new members find their way, share the modules with schools and clubs, and support chapters. Ambassador seats come after you are actually using the modules, so finish some of Learn first. Staff review every application.

Good fit if you: have finished several modules, are active in the community, and want to help others get started.

  • Officer openings

Officer seats are youth leadership roles, such as Education Director or Safety and Moderation Lead. The Our Team page describes each seat. When a seat is open, you can submit an interest form or apply. An interest form does not appoint you.

Good fit if you: want to help run YCP and can commit time each week.

  • Apply

Once you apply for a role, you can follow your application from submitted to a decision. When a decision is made, it shows on your account. If you are accepted, your new role is added to your website account, and connecting or syncing Discord applies it in the server.

  • Project teams

Members can propose projects, such as a new explainer series or a school workshop. A proposal becomes an official YCP project only after an officer approves it. Once a project is approved, other members can join the team.

Good fit if you: have an idea and want to work on it with others.

  • Volunteer roles

Volunteers help with education sessions, plain-language editing, outreach, and event support. Log the work you do on the Service page. Hours count after an officer reviews and approves them, and approved hours can appear on a verification letter.

Good fit if you: want flexible ways to help or need documented service hours.

  • Scholarships

The Scholarships page lists a scholarship only when one is actually published and open. If it is empty, no scholarship is open right now.

Before you apply

  • Make sure your account is set up and your agreements are signed.
  • If you are 13 to 17, family consent needs to be on file.
  • Be honest in applications and hour logs. False information is a conduct problem.
