What this site is
Youth Civic Project is a youth-led civic education project. Donations are not tax-deductible at this time. It teaches constitutions, statutes, and court cases in language a student can use. Membership is free.
What a member can do
- Read the Issues library and the daily case.
- Finish Learn modules and check four questions at the end of each.
- Ask in a chat that saves. Staff can hide a message.
- Log volunteer hours. An officer approves them. A letter can be printed for school.
What chat stores
Messages stay on the thread so a student can come back next week. Moderators read the queue. Threats and self-harm language are escalated. Unsigned accounts do not reach the composer.
Family link (ages 13–17)
If your child already has a membership and is 13–17, they can send you a family link from their dashboard. That link lets you confirm the account and see approved volunteer hours and signed documents. It is not the officer panel. You cannot chat as the member or change hours from it.
Hours
A log needs a date, a task, minutes, and a short description. Fake hours are a conduct problem. Schools decide whether they accept the letter.
What we will not do
We will not take a live discipline file or a court date. We will not hide an emergency from a parent. If someone is in danger, use local emergency services. In the United States you can also dial 988 for a crisis line.
