TYCP materials explain constitutional and legal ideas in plain language so young people can learn. They are incomplete. They may become outdated. They are not written for your school, city, or case. Reading them, joining, volunteering, or using chat does not make us your lawyer. For a real problem, talk with a parent or guardian and a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction.
No Attorney–Client Relationship
No attorney-client relationship is created by using this site, sending a message, hearing a guest speaker, donating, or volunteering. Messages to TYCP are not privileged legal consultations. A licensed attorney who speaks at a TYCP session speaks as a guest educator unless that attorney signs a separate engagement with a specific person.
Legal Information vs. Legal Advice
TYCP staff and volunteers may give legal information: what a rule or Amendment is, in general terms. They may not give legal advice: what you should file, whether you will win, or how to handle your live case. If a question requires applying law to your detailed facts, we will repeat the disclaimer and suggest a parent and a licensed attorney.
